PHILOSOFITNESS

COACH DAVE

Dave began his fitness career a few years after college.  His passion to educate our youth is driven by the things he wished he knew as a growing athlete. He is the owner and operator of PhilosoFitness and currently conditions triathletes with a focus on preventing injuries.  He provides meal plans, life coach consultation and workouts through his business.

As a conditioning coach, his ultimate goal is to provide each swimmer with motivation and a sense of drive. Through exercise and positive reinforcement, Dave believes each member of this club will find it within themselves to achieve individual goals to their highest potential.  He will focus on improving the efficiency of the muscle groups used in swimming, overall cardiovascular performance and improving athletic ability. His guidelines and systematic program are designed to reduce athletic injury. Coach Dave performs and leads high intensity interval training that improves technical ability to push off walls, explode from the starting block and reduce fatigue mentally and physically during a race. With Coach Dave's ability to bring inspiration to each individual he has trained, Sharks Swim Club is excited to have him as part of the team.

DRYLAND CONDITIONING WITH COACH DAVE

Dryland conditioning

Dryland conditioning is very important for a competitive swimmer and is included in the club cost for all Silver, Gold and National Levels.  We include dryland conditioning as part of our weekly routines for many beneficial reasons:

  • Added value - Sharks Swim Club offers the best the best in health and fitness in the Chicagoland area.  The addition of dryland conditioning without an additional fee rivals other swim clubs in the area.
  • Improved muscle mass - resistance workouts, such as using rubber-bands, will improve your muscle mass.  With improved muscle mass, you will be able to power through the water and beat your competitors.
  • Increase your aerobic fitness - as a swimmer, aerobic is important.  Doing different cardiovascular exercises, in and out of the water, helps boost your cardiovascular fitness more effectively than just doing the one exercise.  The fitter your are, the more likely you are to have a successful and enjoyable season.
